"I Am From" Poem
|
For our "I Am Poem" we used a version of the original poem called "Where I'm From" by George Ella Lyon that was adapted by Levi Romeo. We filled out that template with our own information and life experiences.

Watermark Narrative

We had to write a "watermark" narrative using our word painting tools. In this narrative, we had to write about an event that left a lasting impression on us. I wrote mine about the time I got my dog.

Ted Project: Ted Talk
|
For the Ted project in English, we had to write a Ted Talk. We used our essential skills as well as ethos, pathos, and logos to write a Ted Talk about a topic we chose. I wrote about LGBT+ students in school.

Be Heard Project
|
For the English section of our Be Heard Project, we had to write a song about a social justice issue that was important to us. My song was about same-sex marriage rights and how Donald Trump could take those rights away. We then listened to everyone's songs in class and chose our favorites. I worked in Macie's group. She wrote a song about Freedom of Speech. In our groups, we had to make videos for the song we were assigned.
